In many industrial processes, pressure is one of the most critical parameters for maintaining safe and efficient operation. A Differential Pressure Transmitter measures the pressure difference between the High Pressure (HP) and Low Pressure (LP) ports, converting the measurement into standard industrial signals such as 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, HART, or RS485. These signals can then be transmitted to PLC, DCS, SCADA, or other automation systems for real-time monitoring and process control.
One of the most common applications is flow measurement. DP Transmitters are also widely applied in closed tank level measurement. By comparing the hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of the tank with the pressure above the liquid surface, the transmitter accurately determines liquid level without requiring direct contact with the process media.
Another important application is filter monitoring, including HVAC systems, dust collectors, heat exchangers, and clean rooms. As filters become clogged, differential pressure increases. Monitoring this pressure difference allows maintenance teams to replace filters before they reduce system performance or cause unexpected downtime.
